Our Basic Beliefs
At CenterPoint, we emphasize the major issues of the Christian faith and
allow for personal understandings on minor issues. We believe:
 | The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the final authority for
faith and living. |
 | God exists in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and has
revealed Himself to be perfect in love, right in all His ways, and the
Creator of all things. |
 | Jesus Christ is God's eternal Son. As true God and true man, He was born
of a virgin, showed us how to live through His perfect life, died on the
cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the dead, was seen by
over 500 people, and returned to Heaven to prepare a place for all who
receive Him. |
 | Men and women were created in God's image to have a personal
relationship with Him, but were tempted by Satan and rebelled against God.
Through turning away from our sins and turning to Jesus Christ in faith,
we receive forgiveness and healing. We are made new by the Holy Spirit and
become children of God. God has given people the freedom to chose Him. |
 | The Holy Spirit persuades us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as
Lord. He lives in us, teaches us and enables us to live full and godly
lives. |
 | The Church is the living Body of Christ. He is its head and the source
of its life. The Body is composed of those who have received Jesus as
Savior and Lord. The Church exists to celebrate and live for God, to
clearly communicate Christ and help people discover a meaningful
relationship with Him, and to cultivate personal growth and development in
Christ. |
 | Jesus Christ will return to earth to raise the dead, judge the world,
right all wrongs, and establish His eternal Kingdom. Heaven and hell are
the final destinies of people, depending on their decisions about Jesus.
Those who have been spiritually reborn will live with Jesus forever in
heaven. |
